Host a Scratch Workshop

Hosting a Scratch workshop for kids can help to build your presentation skills while having fun and helping other kids learn about code through games.

I host Scratch workshops for kids ages 8-10 in my community. Here are some pics from my latest workshop.  My friends came to help as coaches for the kids during the exercises.

About Scratch

With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community.
Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.
Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is provided free of charge.

I created some slides that you can use as a guide to speak to an adult about hosting a Scratch class at your local school, library or community center.

You can use these slides as-is or make your own using this information as a guide.

For more class ideas you can visit the great Scratch Educators Area also.
